How do I strengthen my intuition through the body?
Intuition is often perceived as something mysterious or intangible – something that arises only in rare moments or for certain people. But in reality, intuition is a natural, inherent ability that we all carry within us. What’s often missing is access. Access to the quiet space where it can be heard. Access to the body, where it speaks from.
When we begin to work somatically – with awareness of the breath, the senses, impulses, and the rhythm of the nervous system – a different internal signal balance begins to emerge. We start to hear the quiet, feel the subtle, distinguish fear from clarity. Intuition can show up in many different ways: as a gentle direction, a sense of ease, an unexpected image, a slight shift in tone inside. It doesn’t always arrive as a loud YES – but as something familiar, an inner movement that feels right before we can fully explain why.
It requires a willingness to feel ourselves. Not just on the surface, but deep into the landscape of the body. Not just when it’s convenient, but as a kind of anchoring in everyday life. Intuition is not only something we have – it’s something we practice. Just like a muscle strengthens through repeated movement, intuition becomes clearer when we return our attention inward again and again, meeting what we feel with curiosity and trust. This is where deep somatic work makes a difference – because it teaches us not just to feel, but also to trust what we feel. And perhaps even more importantly: to discern the difference between an old survival strategy and an intuitive call.
Intuition becomes clearer when the body is allowed to take part – not as a tool, but as our partner and compass. When we listen without forcing. When we let go of the need to know and instead become curiously aware of what is already emerging. When we turn inward, over and over again, and slowly learn to distinguish between fear and truth. When we are at home in ourselves enough to take the next step – even without a guarantee of where it might lead.
